NTH has adopted a regulatory framework for doctorate degrees, which includes general rules and regulations for conducting PhD examination processes. It applies to all doctorate programmes conducted at the member universities in an NTH subject or NTH group of subjects.

Initiative for Excellence: PhDcube

Niedersachsen Institutes of Technology (NTH) participate at the second phase of the initiative for excellence initiated by the federal and state governments with the application for a new school of engineering sciences - PhD^cube.

The NTH School of Engineering Sciences PhD^cube will be a powerful organization of the interdisciplinary research activities and PhD education in engineering and related fields at Technische Universität Braunschweig, Clausthal University of Technology and Leibniz Universität Hannover. Due to the substantial resources of NTH there is a high potential for a profound doctoral education for excellent graduates.

Within the graduate school multidisciplinary research will be performed in the areas of Fundamentals and Modeling, Computational Methods and Algorithms and Complex Processes. The emphasis of PhD^cube is to provide a place at which gifted Master-students, PhD-students and Post-docs can perform leading international research in these areas.
