Research at NTH
Growth requires first of all innovation. The NTH university alliance has access to the innovative potential of three outstandingly placed university campuses, allowing it to develop sustainable research collaboration. By fostering both basic research of international renown and applied research, NTH has put itself on the international map as a high-profile idea factory for major technological concepts for the future.
Conditions for research are ideal in the state of Niedersachsen. NTH can rely not only on top university scientists; it can also integrate in its projects the capacities of the numerous major research institutes based in the region. In addition, NTH strongly pursues the concept of cross-university research centres.
The Braunschweig-based Automotive Research Centre Niedersachsen (Niedersächsisches Forschungszentrum Fahrzeugtechnik, NFF), the Energy Research Centre Niedersachsen (Energie-Forschungszentrum Niedersachsen, EFZN) in Goslar, and the Niedersachsen Research Centre for Production Technology (Niedersächsisches Forschungszentrum Produktionstechnik, NFP) stand for science and research at the highest level, together with other institutes. Researchers from the three member universities work on interdisciplinary projects at these research facilities to find solutions for major issues affecting the future of mobility, productivity and industrial competitiveness, and the energy supply.
